A resident native of Oakland California, Alexander Taite graduated in 2007 from Pepperdine University with a Bachelor's Degree in music theory and composition. He emphasized in vocal performance and jazz piano. He spent 4 years teaching theory and conducting choirs at the Oakland School for the Arts. In 2014 he placed third in the inaugural James Toland Vocal Arts competition and in 2016 took audience favorite. He was a finalist in the East Bay Opera League scholarship competition in 2015. He is currently writing two song books of spirituals, one for solo voice with piano and one for acappella chorus. Previously, Alex has enjoyed teaching with the SF Opera Guild (SF Opera's education and outreach department); conducting the graduate level ensemble at the San Francisco Boys Chorus; Singing with the San Francisco Symphony chorus; coaching and voice teaching at Cantare Con Vivo; directing, and singing in recording projects around the Bay Area; and performing on many local Bay. Area opera stages. He currently finds great joy in singing with the San Francisco Opera Chorus; teaching private piano, music theory and voice lessons; and Directing Chorus Eclectic.
A native of Chicago, Eugenia Wie made her radio debut on Chicago Public Radio at the age of nine. During her formative years, she was a recipient of a Nicolas Amati violin on generous loan from the Mary B. Galvin Foundation and Stradivarius Society. She has performed in solo and chamber music concerts across North and South America, Asia and Europe and appeared at music festivals, including Round Top Music Festival, the Texas Festival Orchestra, Val-de-Charante, Banff Music Center for the Arts, Kneisel Hall, Schleswig-Holstein Masterclasses, Duo Masterclasses at Lausanne and the International Music Seminar at Prussia Cove. In 2000, she won the Frank Huntington Beebe Grant, allowing her to continue her studies abroad in Cologne, Germany.
She previously served on faculty at the Music Institute of Chicago, where she was Program Director of Chamber Music. She has performed in the Chicago Cultural Center’s Dame Myra Hess and Sunday Salon Series, NEIU’s Mostly Music and Jewel Box Series, Music in the Loft, and was in the Court Theater production of James Joyce’s “The Dead.” Before relocating to San Francisco, she was a member of Camerata Chicago, Wisconsin Chamber Orchestra, and ProMusica Chamber Orchestra.
Wie holds degrees from Rice University and The New School’s Mannes College of Music. Her principal teachers include Sergiu Luca, Daniel Phillips and Josef Gingold. Currently, she’s a member of Santa Rosa Symphony, Symphony San Jose, and Monterey Symphony Orchestra. In December 2020, she released her first Holiday Album entitled “Winter Wander” which had its debut performance at the Center for the Arts in Grass Valley in December 2023.
The artistry of violinist Liana Bérubé is inextricably intertwined with self-knowledge and self-compassion. Her openly expressive aesthetic, described as “searching mastery” (Charleston Gazette-Mail), has been heard in North America, Europe, Asia, and Australia. She is co-founder and violinist of the Delphi Trio and concertmaster of the magik*magik orchestra. Concerto performances include appearances with Thirteen Strings Chamber Orchestra, Sinfonia Toronto, Bear Valley Music Festival Orchestra, Oakland Symphony, Eureka Symphony, San Jose Chamber Orchestra, and San Francisco Chamber Orchestra. She has been heard on NPR, CBC, VH1, WFMT Chicago, and Dutch Radio 4, and has collaborated with artists such as Emmanuel Ax, Toby Appel, Anthony Marwood, Elizabeth Blumenstock, Monica Huggett, and the Alexander String Quartet. Concert appearances include Chamber Music Concerts Ashland, Great Lakes Chamber Music Festival, Orlando Festival, Artist Series of Sarasota, Kronos Festival, Morrison Artist Series, Harry Jacobs Chamber Music Society, Moab Music Festival, Valley of the Moon Music Festival, the Verbier Festival, and the Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival. Liana strongly believes in listening to intuition, subconscious, and instinct, in order to express the innate knowledge of personal truth through art. Liana Bérubé is concertmaster of the San Jose Chamber Orchestra.
Croatian-American violist Ivo Bokulic is a highly sought-after musician, celebrated for his artistry in the Bay Area and beyond. He is Principal Violist of the San José Chamber Orchestra, and holds additional positions in Opera San José, San Francisco Chamber Orchestra, and One Found Sound. Ivo also performs with distinguished ensembles such as the New Century Chamber Orchestra and San Francisco Opera.In addition to opera and orchestra, Ivo has toured, recorded, and shared the stage with renowned musicians such as Beck, Andrea Bocelli, Death Cab for Cutie, The Eagles, Father John Misty, Smokey Robinson, and Sting. He also regularly records music for video games, television, and films at Skywalker Ranch. Ivo can also be seen performing at Fever's Candlelight Concerts in San Francisco, Oakland, Sacramento, & San José.Notably, Ivo has appeared as soloist, performing Martinů’s Rhapsody-Concerto with the Eureka Symphony, and Mozart’s Sinfonia Concertante alongside violinist Liana Bérubé and the San José Chamber Orchestra. A recipient of both Bachelor and Master of Music degrees from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music under the tutelage of Jodi Levitz, Ivo plays a viola crafted in 1999 by Hiroshi Iizuka. When he’s not making music, Ivo enjoys cultivating his mostly monochromatic aesthetic, indulging in fine dining, and indie music exploration. He also loves sharing and receiving copious amounts of cat memes, and polishing the day off with a glass of vino.
Pianist, Aileen Chanco has appeared as soloist, recitalist and chamber musician throughout the United States, Canada and the Philippines. Critics have described her playing as “steeped in expressiveness and tastefulness to the core” [Mercury News] and “superbly eloquent” [Sacramento Bee]. Highlights of her career have included solo performances with the San Francisco Symphony, Boston Pops, Shreveport Symphony Orchestra, Chamber Orchestra of Albuquerque, Lima Symphony Orchestra, the Santa Cruz Symphony, Oakland Symphony and Berkeley Symphony. Internationally, she soloed with the Banff Festival Orchestra, the Manila Symphony Orchestra and the Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra, debuting with John Adam’s “Century Rolls”. She received her Bachelors and Master’s degrees in music from the Juilliard School and attended the Aspen Music Festival, Moscow Conservatory in America Festival, Schleswig-Holstein Musikfestival and the Banff Centre Resident Artist Program.
Her passion for collaboration moved her to found the Fremont-based chamber music series, Music at the Mission in 2005 out of which was also formed the groups, Quinteto Quilombo and Suono. Aileen’s solo discography includes the album “Images of Three Centuries” on the Con Brio Label which was hailed as “intensely virtuosic” [MusicWeb-International] and “imaginatively worked out” [American Record Guide]. Born in the Philippines and raised in California, Aileen resides in the Bay Area with her family where she enjoys the numerous hiking trails, fencing and wine tasting.
Eileen Moon was born and raised in the Peninsula of the San Francisco Bay Area. She enjoyed an immersive musical experience as a student of Frances Bennion and Irene Sharp, Preparatory Division at the San Francisco Conservatory, and years with the Palo Alto Chamber Orchestra. Following her studies at The Juilliard School, Eileen received 2nd Prize at the Geneva International Cello Competition. From 1991-1993 she lived in Vienna, Austria and studied with Valentin Erben of the Alban Berg Quartet at the Hochschule fur Musik Wien. She received the 4th Prize (top prize awarded that year) at the Tchaikovsky International Cello Competition in 1994, and shortly thereafter began her life in the orchestral world.
Eileen has had a 1-year contract with the Los Angeles Philharmonic, has played as substitute cellist with the San Francisco Symphony, and in 1998 she joined the cello section of the New York Philharmonic. In 2007 she was named Associate Principal Cello with the New York Philharmonic and enjoyed touring, chamber music performances and festivals, and a rich orchestral life until 2022 when she made the decision to return to California to be near family.
Now residing in the North Bay, Eileen enjoys all things food and wine, running, outrigger canoeing, and her team of dogs with husband Philip Myers.
